The "Meyer-Sparough"-bikeThis bike was sold in 1905 to Henry Meyer. This Photograph was made in 1912 by H-D-Photographer L.C. Rosenkrans.
The bike showed several modifications:
later style fenders, replacement fork, different wheels, handle bar and battery box.
During 1912-1913 the bike was publicized
in H-D literature as being the First Harley-Davidson Motorcycle ever built,
and up to that point had been ridden nearly 100.000 miles.
The first Harley bike appeared in 1903. Till now, it has lasted more than 100 years. It is very hard for us to connect the Harley which is the a symbol of our culture with the first Harley. I meet many friend on a site called bikerkiss. We usually talk about Harley together. We all think that Harley is a miracle.
